Across the country

A few weeks ago Caleb and I went on a cross country ski trip with the Young Men and Young Women in our ward. It was my first experience cross country skiing, and I fell a few more times than I would like to admit. There were quite a few hills to go down, and I have no idea how to control those things when you're flying down a hill!! We stayed at the end of the group and ended up skiing with our little friend Emily the whole way. I teach her in Beehives. Even though we were behind everyone else, and she had a difficult time getting the hang of it, she kept up a positive attitude the entire way. And I think it may have had something to do with this guy....
Caleb was so encouraging and so patient, and made the trip so much fun. All through the trip I could hear "way to go!" and "good job!" He was so willing to help her learn, and I think because of it she had a really good experience. Even though we were behind everyone with little Emily, we had a great time!

After the trip, we all went to the hot springs to warm up and relax our sore muscles! It was my first time going to the hot springs in Banff and I never thought it would be with a bunch of teenage kids! But we had a great time, and I'm glad we got to go!

What a trooper! :)

Aren't you glad you married such a great guy! He got a catch, too. I'm glad things are going well.

Fun! I'm so glad you're in YW's - I think we may steal this idea - where did you get all your cross country equipment from? And I agree, Caleb is the most positive person I know :)

Julie,
I think that we rented it from the University? I'm pretty sure that's where they got it all from, but I'll ask someone for you and check!
